Drabopsis C. Koch in Linnaea. 15: 253. 1841. Schulz in Engl. & Prantl, l.c. 548; Cullen in Davis, l.c. 444; Hedge in Rech. f., l.c. 212.
A monotypic genus, differing from Arabis by its leafless scapes, small flowers with petals hardly exceeding the sepals, middle nectar glands absent or rudimen¬tary, minute subsessile or sessile stigma, and siliquae short, ± curved above. Arabis Looks more like some of the genera of the tribe Sisymbrieae, such as Arabi¬dopsis, in smaller flowers and fruit but the radicle accumbent. However, Busch (in Kom, l.c.) included it under Arabidopsis. Amalgamation of these 2 genera and the transference of Arabidopsis to the tribe Arabideae will probably be a right solution. However, this problem needs further critical studies (see note under Arabidopsis also).
