Twining herbs. Leaf pinnately trifoliolate, stipels and stipules present. Inflorescence axillary, racemose, many flowered. Bract small, bracteoles minute. Calyx tube gibbous at the base, obliquely truncate at the mouth, teeth obsolete. Vexillum auriculate, glabrous; claws of the vexillum, wing and keel long. Stamens diadelphous, 9+1, vexillary stamen free, anthers uniform. Ovary substipitate, 4-many ovuled, style flattened above the middle, beardless, stigma terminal. Fruit linear, compressed, constricted but not septate between the seeds.
A genus with 6-10 species, distributed in the tropics of the Old World, locally represented by 1 species.
