Shrub, glabrous. Inflorescence axillary. Flowers subsessile, 6-merous. Epicalyx longer than calyx. Stamens (l0-)12, inserted at the base of the hypanthium. Ovary obovate-globose. Capsule included in hypanthium, dehiscence irregular. Seeds obovate-truncate.
Species 3, South America to Argentina. One species is cultivated in Pakistan.
