Nesaea salicifolia H.B. & K.
Shrub, c. 1.8 m tall. Leaves lanceolate, acute, glabrous, 1.5-3.5 cm long, 3-6 mm broad, smaller on branches. Pedicel c. 1 mm. Bracteoles 2, inserted beneath the hypanthium, linear. Hypanthium 2 mm long, 2.75 mm broad. Epicalyx subulate. Sepals 0.75 mm long, 1.5-2 mm broad. Petals 3.25-4 mm long, 2.5-3.5 mm broad, cuneate or obovate-rotundate. Stamens inserted at the base of the hypanthium, all exserted or some included, up to 4 mm long. Ovary obovate-globose, style 4 mm. Capsule prominently 6-nerved.

Type: Described from Mexico.
Distribution: Tropical America.
Cultivated in the plains. Not Common.
