Perennial herbs with pubescent parts. Flowers ebracteate. Calyx 5-partite, spreading in fruit. Corolla funnel form, blue or purple-blue, with spreading lobes. Throat scales present. Stamens 5. Ovary 4-lobed. Style long and slender. Nutlets dorsally compressed, appendiculate.

12 species in N. Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, URSS and China. Represented in Pakistan by 3 species.

1 Corolla tube equal to or much longer than the limb. Limb deep divided to more than 4 ½ length. Filaments ± the anther size, present basally below the base of the throat scales (2)

+ Corolla tube shorter than limb. Limb shallowly divided 1 /3-1 /2 of its length. Filaments shorter than anthers, situated clearly below the base of the throat scales 1 Lindelofia anchusoides

2 (1) Corolla lobes oblong. Throat scales much shorter than anthers 2 Lindelofia stylosa

+ Corolla lobes ovate. Throat scales equal to or longer than anthers 3 Lindelofia longiflora
