Perennial herbs. Leaves alternate, pinnate. Cymes terminal, corym¬bose. Corolla funnel- or bell-shaped, lobes patent, obovate. Stamens attached near the base of the corolla; filaments declinate, hairy, with appen¬dages at the base. Ovary and capsule ovoid.
Species about 50, mostly in N.W. America.
