Perennial herb. Stem reduced. Leaf imparipinnate, leaflets entire, stipules villous, scarious. Inflorescence an axillary peduncled raceme. Bract lanceolate. Calyx gamosepalous, upper 2 calyx teeth longer. Vexillum subequal to keel. Wing smaller. Stamens diadelphous, 9+1, anthers uniform. Fruit linear, straight, compressed, ridges tooth-like, indehiscent joints within the margin scarcely separating. Seed reniform.
A monotypic genus, distributed in Kashmir, Tibet and Sikkim. Stracheya tibetica
