Plants perennial. Leaves 1-3-pinnate. Umbels pedunculate or sessile. Involu¬cre and involucel of entire or divided bracts and bractlets, minute or foliaceous. Calyx teeth present or lacking. Petals white, pink or yellow. Fruit ovoid to ovate, oblong or globose, laterally compressed; fruit wall lax, tubercled; furrows 1-3-vittate; commissure 2-vittate. Albumen sulcate.
A genus about 40 species extending from Iran and Central Asia to China.
