Taxodium mucronatum Ten. in Ann. Sc. Nat, Ser. 3(3), 19:355. 1835.
Tree up to 30 m tall. Leaves flat and linear, usually dropping off with their
branches the second year. Male cones in panicles. Female cones up to 25 mm broad.
Seeds 2, angled.
Type: Described from Mexico.
"The Mexican Cypress" is sparingly cultivated in gardens and nurseries in the Punjab; Distribution: Native to Southern U.S.A., Mexico. Introduced elsewhere.
