Astragalus glaber (DC.) Lamk.Oxytropis diffusa Ledeb.
Perennial herb, c. 30-75 cm tall; root stock woody. Stem elongated, branched generally in a zigzag fashion, minutely hairy, hairs appressed. Leaves stipulate, stipules free lateral, pilose. Leaf c. 2.5-10 cm imparipinnately compound. Leaflets 9-17, alternate to opposite, subsessile, c. 6-30 mm long, c. 3-9 mm broad, elliptic to ovate, entire, acute, mucronate, sparsely pilose above or on both sides, Flowers in pedunculate axillary racemes, peduncle c. 2.5-12.5 cm; bracts 1.5-2.5 mm; pedicel c. 1.5 mm. Calyx c. 5 mm long, pilose, lower (longer teeth) c. 1.5-2 mm. Vexillum c. 6-7 mm long; wing, c. 6 mm long; keel c. 5 mm long. Fruit stipe c. 1 mm long; fruit c. 7-11 mm long. c. 4-5 mm broad) mucronate, pilose.

Distribution: Pakistan (N.W.F. Province); Kashmir; Tibet; Mongolia; China; Russia.
