Primula meeboldii PaxPrimula moorcroftiana Wall.Primula stuartii var. moorcroftiana (Wall. ex Klatt) Watt
Leaves 30-100 x 4-12 mm long, lanceolate, margin entire. Scape 3.5-13.5 cm long, 2-8 (-20) flowered, equalling or barely exceeding the foliage, slender. Bract 7-20 mm long, lanceolate, exceeding or equalling the calyx. Calyx 3-5 mm long, lanceolate. Corolla lobes obcordate, 5-7 x 5-6 mm. Style 1.7 to 5.5 mm (in thrum-eyed flowers).
Fl. Per.: June-July.
Holotype: Described from Ladak.
Distribution: The same as that of the type variety, but not recorded from the Hazara in the Frontier province of Pakistan.
The variety does not appear to be as abundant as the type variety, from which it differs in the smaller size, the bracts which may exceed the calyx in length and the obcordate corolla lobes. None of these characters are absolute, but when taken in conjunction, afford some ground for separation. High altitude forms of the variety macrophylla are often difficult to distinguish from the var. moorcroftiana.
