Lilium giganteum Wall.
Bulbs up to 10 cm in diameter, scales few, broadly ovate. Stem 0.9-4.0 m, up to 4.5 cm in diameter, fistular. Leaves in basal rosette and along the whole stem, ovate, deeply cordate, up to 35(-45) x 24 (-40) cm, petiole up to 25 cm, stem leaves small. Inflorescence 5-10 (-25)-flowered raceme. Bracteoles deciduous. Pedicel <1.0 cm. Flowers horizontal or deflexed, regular, fragrant, trumpet shaped, white, striped with red-purple inside, tepals narrowly oblanceolte, saccate at base, 10-15 (-20) x 1.6-3.0 cm. Filaments 6-7.5 cm, anthers 0.5-1.5 cm, purplish-yellow. Ovary 2.5-3.0 cm, style 4.5-6.0 cm, stigma 3-lobed. Fruit a capsule, up to 7 cm long. Seeds 1-1.5 cm, reniform, wing membranous.
