    Stems glabrous, slender, twining clockwise. Tubers small, globose. Leaves alternate, 3-5-foliolate, glabrous; petiole 1.5-4.5 cm long, leaflets 3.5-13.5 cm long, 1-2.5 cm broad, narrowly lanceolate, finely acuminate; petiolule 0-5 mm long, Bulbils black, coriaceous. Male racemes pubescent, 2.5-5 cm long, axillary, solitary or sometimes 2. Antheriferous stamens 3, alternating with 3 staminodes. Female spikes pubsecent, solitary, axillary, c. 4 cm long. Capsule c. 1.5 cm long, 0.5 cm broad, more or less truncate at the apex, rounded at the base. Seeds winged at the top.

    Fl. Per.: August-September.

    Type: Syntypes several from Himalayas, Assam and Yunnan.

    Distribution: The Himalayas, Kashmir and W.Pakistan, from 1400-2400 m. Not common.
