Caucalis leptophylla Linn.
Plants up to 60 cm tall, hispid. Leaves bipinnate; segments linear. Peduncles 2-4 cm long, stout. Umbels usually lateral. Involucral bracts lacking. Rays 2-5, unequal, 2-4 cm long. Involucel of linear bractlets. Calyx teeth acuminate. Fruit oval to ovoid, 4 mm long, bristly; bristles subglochidiate, shining; stigma subsessile.
Type: Described from Southern France.
Distribution: Europe, Africa, Central and Southern Asia, introduced in USA.
A very common species found in the plains and the lower hills.
