Perennial, c. 30-100 cm tall, many stems from the base, erect, angled, glabrous or pubescent, hairs short, appressed. Leaf imparipinnately compound c. 4-7 cm long, petioles very short; leaflets c. 7-15, c. 10-20 mm long, oblong or linear-oblong, rarely elliptic, glabrous or sparsely pubescent below; stipules c. 3-5 mm long. Inflorescence an axillary raceme, peduncle c. 5-15 cm long. Bracts c. 1-2 mm long. Pedicel c. 1-2 mm long. Calyx c. 2.5-3 mm long, pubescent, hairs white and black, teeth less than 1 mm long. Corolla purple or white with purple keel. Vexillum c. 9-11 mm long. Wing nearly equalling the vexillum. Keel c. 5-6 mm long. Fruit subsessile, c. 7-9 mm long, c. 3 mm broad, carinate ventrally, broadly grooved dorsally, glabrous, bilocular or sub-bilocular, 5-6-seeded.
