Perennial, c. 70 cm or less tall, stem pubescent, hairs appressed. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 5-10 cm long, petiole short, rachis white-pubescent; leaflets 15-25, c. 10-19 mm long, elliptic-oblong or broadly sub-linear, obtuse, mucronate, pubescent, hairs appressed; stipules united about the middle, encircling the stem, c. 6-8 mm long, acute. Inflorescence a pedunculate raceme, peduncle c. 10-18 cm long. Bracts c. 2-3 mm long, black ciliate, longer than the pedical. Calyx c. 8-10 mm long, pubescent, hairs black and white, teeth c. 1-1.5 mm long. Corolla greenish white, vexillum sometimes purple-tinged. Vexillum c. 15-16 mm long. Keel c. 10-11 mm long. Fruit c. 10-15 mm long, sessile, pubescent, hairs appressed, white and black; incompletely bilocular, 6-10-seeded.
