Perennial herb. Tap root thick and woody, aerial stem 15 cm or less long, sometimes almost absent, branches tomentose silky. Stipules lateral, c. 6 mm long, velutinous. Leaf imparipinnately compound, rachis (including petiole) c. 2-10 cm long, pilose to velutinous, petiole c. 1.0-4.0 cm long; petiolule less than 1 mm long, lamina c. 4-16 mm long, c. 2-13 mm broad, obovate to oblong-obovate, entire, tip obtuse, truncate to emarginate, velvety tomentose. Inflorescence a 1-4-flowered, axillary, pedunculate cyme; peduncle c. 3-10 cm, velutinous. Pedicel c. 2-4 mm long, velutinous. Calyx c. 15-17 mm long, velutinous, teeth unequal, c. 4-7 mm, black gland tipped. Vexillum c. 21-32 mm long, velutinous externally. Wing c. 20-29 mm long. Keel c. 16-25 mm long. Fruit c. 4-5.7 cm long, c. 8 mm broad, glabrescent when mature, 10-12-seeded. Seeds reniform, pitted, brown to black.

Distribution: Pakistan (N.W.F. Province); Kashmir; India, Punjab; Western Tibet; Chinese Turkistan.
