Perennial, caespitose herbs; shoots 6-20 cm long, flexuose, 0-2-leaved, often aphyllous, erect or suberect, floccose with short, branched, soft, white hairs. Radical leaves rosulate, oblong-lanceolate or oblanceolate, (7-) 10-20 mm long, 2-3 (-5) mm broad, sessile, usually entire, softly hairy. Racemes 5-10-flowered, lax, up to 10 cm long in fruit. Flowers c. 5 mm across, yellow or yellowish; pedicel 10-15 mm long in fruit, thin, ascending, pubescent. Sepals c. 2.5 m long. Petals 4-5 mm long, c. 2 mm broad, apex subemarginate. Stamens c. 2: 2.5 mm long. Siliculae 6-18 mm long, 1.5-1.8 mm broad, oblong-linear, flattened, acute, pubescent with short, branched hairs, rarely glabrous; style c. 1 mm long with short, capitate stigma; septum not veined; seeds 8-12 in each locule, c. 1 mm long, oblong-ovate, brown.

Fl. Per.: June-Aug.

Type: W. Tibet, Zanskar, Thomson (K).

Distribution: Himalayas, C. Asia, Tibet, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Bowes Lyon 973 (BM), cited above has intermediate characters of this species and Draba falconeri Schulz, in siliculae and leaves, but flowers pale yellowish (neither yellow nor white, distinguishing flower colour in the 2 spp. respectively), up to 2 cauline leaves, and siliculae contorted; it may prove to be a new taxon with more record.
