Hedysarum microcalyx Baker in Hook.f.,Fl.Brit.Ind. 2:147. 1876.
Plant 45-60 cm long. Stem grooved, glabrous. Leaf 15-20 cm long, leaflets 11-13, 2.5-3.8 cm long, oblong-lanceolate, obtuse-subacute, glabrous on both sides. Inflorescence a 5-10 cm long raceme, bracts linear. Pedicel 3-4.5 mm long. Calyx 3-3.5 mm long, glabrous, teeth deltoid, shorter than the tube. Corolla bright red, 1.5-2.0 cm long. Keel exceeding the vexillum. Fruits 2-3 jointed, joint c. 1.2-1.6 cm long, membranous, entire, both sutures distinctly margined.
