Perennial herb, root-stock woody; aerial stem much reduced, rhizome branched and covered with persistent leaf bases and stipules. Leaves c. 2.5-7.0 cm long, imparipinnately compound, petiole c. 7-25 mm, leaflets 13-23; subsessile, c. 2-6 mm long, c. 2.5 mm or less broad, entire, acute-obtuse, densely pilose on both sides. Flowers in peduncled heads, peduncle c. 2-11 cm; bracts c. 2-3 mm; pedicel c. 1 mm; calyx c. 6-7.5 mm, teeth c. 2.5 mm. Vexillum c. 10-12 mm; wing 11-11.5 mm; keel c. 9-10 mm. Mature fruit not seen.

Distribution: Pakistan (N.W.F. Province); Kashmir; India; Tibet; Afghanistan; Russia.
