Perennial, villous all over with long erect and short curved hairs, c. 20 cm tall. Leaves obovate-elliptic, obtuse, 10-43 mm long, 2-18 mm broad. Racemes lateral, rarely terminal, shorter than leaves, dense, 13-18 mm long. Bracts persistent, ± equalling the pedicel. Sepals persistent; outer sepals very unequal, upper twice as large as the lower ones; inner sepals obovate-elliptic, 7 mm long, 3.5-4 mm broad, many nerved, veinlets ananstomosing. Lateral petals shorter than keel; keel 4-5 mm, crest 2-3 mm. Capsule orbicular, emarginate, 4 mm long, 4-4.25 mm broad, glabrous, wing 0.5 mm, ciliate. Seeds oblong, pilose; strophiole 3-lobed, 3-appendiculate, appendages 1/3 as long as the seed.
