Plants 30-60 cm tall. Stem sheathed in lower part, with 3-6, large, elliptic, acute, up to 15x5 cm leaves, crowded below the middle, above with appressed linear-lanceolate sheaths. Inflorescence 12-30 cm long, narrowly cylindrical, rather lax. Bracts lanceolate-acuminate, ± as long as ovary. Flowers green; sepals subequal in length; the dorsal ovate-oblong, concave, c.5 mm long, the lateral sepals falcately oblong, usually slightly longer; petals oblong, obtuse, 5-6 x 2 mm. Labellum parted in three, side-lobes filiform, slightly diverging, 9x1 mm, longer than the straight, narrow-lanceolate mid-lobe. Spur slender, longer than ovary, c.20 mm, narrow-cylindrical, conspicuously widened at base. Anther-canals and stigmatic processes short. Ovary glabrous.

Type: Described from Mussoorie, Royle.

Distribution: From North Western Himalaya to Sikkim, Bhutan and Assam, at lower altitudes (900-1800 m).
