Convolvulus pentanthus Jacq.
Climbers, the stems herbaceous, pubescent to glabrate. Leaves ovate to broadly ovate, 3-6 cm long, basally cordate, apically acuminate, glabrate. Flowers in dense cymes, usually with 1-2 flowers opening at any one time. Sepals ovate to lanceolate, acute to acuminate, 4-5 x 2-4 mm, pubescent. Corolla mostly blue, sometimes white, 2 cm long. Fruit capsular, globose, brown, glabrous. Seeds brown, 2.5 mm long, glabrous.

Type.: Jacquin herb. (lectotype, D’Arcy, Taxon 19:554-560.1970, W.).

This species and Jacquemontia paniculata (Burm. f.) Hallier f. are often difficult to separate on herbarium specimens. Normally the sepals of Jacquemontia pentantha are only 2-4 mm wide wh ile those of Jacquemontia paniculata are 5-6 mm wide. Corollas of Jacquemontia pentantha are 2 cm long, wh ile those of Jacquemontia paniculata are up to 1 cm long.
