Plants c. 1 m tall. Roots fibrous. Lower leaves petiolate, upper sessile to subsessile; leaflets lanceolate to oval or ovate, 2-4 cm long; margin serrate. Involucre of 5-8 linear bracts, deflexed. Rays 10-15, 1-3 cm long. Involucel of 5-8 linear bractlets. Calyx teeth obsolete. Fruit ovoid, 3 mm long, 2 mm broad, terete in cross section; ridges prominent, corky; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 2-vittate.
Type: Kashmir, T. Thomson (K).
Distribution: India and W. Pakistan.
A common plant in the inner ranges, near water.
