Bupleurum nematocladum Rech. f. & RiedlBupleurum setaceum C.B. Clarke
Annual up to 50 cm tall. Stem slender, 6-8 times dichotomously branched. Lower leaves acicular to linear, 1-4 cm long; upper leaves acicular, setaceous, 2-10 mm long, pungent. Umbels numerous, terminal, uniradiate. Involucre of 1 acicular, 4-5 mm long bract. Involucel of 4-6 acicular bractlets, 2-3 mm long, longer than the flowering umbellet. Fruit oblong, 2 mm long; surface rugose; stylopodium depressed; styles short, divaricate; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 2-vittate. Inner seed face slightly concave.
Type: Turkey, Pamphylia, Heldreich 1845 (K).
Distribution: Mediterranean region to Central Asia, Afghanistan, India, W. Pakistan.
A species found in the drier regions from 700 to 2000 m in the northern parts of West Pakistan.
