Perennial, up to 70 cm tall. Stem fistular; branches few. Lower leaves lanceolate, up to 10 cm long, sessile to subsessile, amplexicaul, veins 9-11, margin white, apex acute, mucronate; upper leaves broadly lanceolate to ovate, cordate, apex obtuse or acute, mucronate, veins 15-25. Involucral bracts I-3 ovate, veins 5-13. Rays 6-10. Involucel of 4-5 lanceolate to oval bractlets, as long or shorter than the flowering umbellet, veins 5. Fruit oblong, 5 mm long; ridges slightly winged; furrows 3-vittate.

Type locality: Kashmir.

Distribution: Himalayas.

This species is to be expected in the northern regions of W. Pakistan from. 2-3000 m.
