Psammogeton stocksii (Boiss.) E. Nasir, comb. nov.

  • Pimpinella stocksii Boiss.

    Plants 15-40 cm tall, branched. Stem glabrous to puberulous. Basal and lower leaves petiolate, trifoliate, pubescent; segments linear to oval; upper leaves sessile to subsessile, reduced. Peduncles terminal and lateral, up to 10 cm long. Involucre of 5 linear to lanceolate, white, pubescent bracts. Rays 5-12, up to 2 cm long, glabrous to puberulous. Involucel of 5-7 white, lanceolate to oval, puberu¬lous bractlets; apex acute to acuminate. Petals white to pinkish. Stylopodium conical; styles 1.5 mm long, divergent, light brown to purple. Fruit oval-ovoid, 2-2.5 mm long; pubescent; hairs T-shaped; vittae large, 1 under each secondary ridge. Inner seed face plane.

    Distribution: Baluchistan.
