Siliculae 10-20 mm long, 2-5 mm broad, tapering from apex to base; apex rounded to emarginate.
Type: Described from Europe, Baltic region, Herb.Linn.no.848/1 (LINN). According to Busch (in Kom., l.c.) described from Japan, type in Leiden.
Distribution: Widespread in Europe, N. & E. Asia reaching to Iraq.
A honey producing plant; blue and green pigments obtained from the plant are sometimes used for dyeing cloth.
