Annual, 20-30 (-40) cm tall, much branched from below; glabrous, glauĀ¬cous. Basal leaves oblong-cuneate, auricled at base, amplexicaul, 3-4 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, obscurely dentate or entire; cauline leaves very variable in size, middle ones often larger than the lower ones, oblong-cordate, amplexicaul. Racemes 20-25-flowered, becoming lax and elongated, up to 15 cm in fruit. Flowers c. 3 mm across, yellow; pedicel 3-7 mm long in fruit, filiform, deflexed, glabrous. Sepals c. 2 mm long. Petals c. 2.5 mm long, 1 mm broad, oblong, cuneate below, apex rounded. Stamens c. 1.5: 2 mm long. Siliculae almost orbicular,(10-) 12-15 mm long, about as broad, including 3-6 mm wide, coarsely veined wings and 6-11 mm long, 4-5 mm broad locule, glabrous to tomentose, cordate (up to 2 mm) at base; slightly or minutely beaked at apex; style c. 1 mm long; seed c. 5 mm long, 1.5 mm broad, ellipsoid, brownish.

Fl.Per.: April-June.

Type: Described from Armenia, Tournefort.

Distribution: Caucasia, Iraq, Iran,Turkey,Afghanistan and Pakistan.
