    Annual, 10-30 (-40) cm tall, branched from the base, densely pubescent with branched or stellate, short and long hairs, very sparsely glandular or not. Leaves lanceolate or oblong, sinuate-dentate to entire, sessile; basal or lower 30-50 (-70) mm long, up to c. 10 mm broad; upper narrower and smaller. Racemes 10-20-flowered, lax, up to 20 cm long in fruit. Flowers c. 7 mm across, white, pinkish or violet; pedicels up to 8 (-12) mm long in fruit, thickened, spreading. Sepals c. 5 mm long, c. 2 mm broad. Petals 8-10 mm long, c. 2.5 mm broad, very shortly clawed. Stamens c. 4:6 mm long. Siliquae (20-) 30-50 (-60) mm long, 1 mm broad, torulose, often slightly curved above, subcylindrical, spreading, sparsely stellately pubescent to subglabrous, often very sparsely glandular; stigma lobes diverging, subsessile to distinctly thick styled (style up to 2 mm long), glabrous; septum somewhat rigid, pale, with depressions formed by the seeds; seeds many, c. 1 mm long, oblong, brown.

    Fl. Per.: April-June.

    Type: Iran: between Kerman and Yazd, Bunge (G).

    Distribution: Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

    A distinct species with white to purplish flowers in the genus and tardily dehiscent, narrow, torulose fruits. Siliquae very variable in size and not a reliable character for separating taxa.
