Erysimum thomsonii Hook. f. in Journ. Linn. Soc. Bot. 5: 165. 1861. Hook. f., Fl. Brit. Ind. 1: 154. 1872.
Erysimum macrospermum Cullen & Rech. f.
Very similar to the previous species but petals 2-3 mm broad, siliquae usually elongated, (40-) 60-90 mm long, c. 2 mm broad, many seeded with large seeds; seeds 2.5-3 (-4) mm long, 1 mm broad, slightly winged towards the apex; style (1.5-) 2-2.5 mm long, slightly thickened with capitate, sub-bilobed stigma.
Fl. Per.: June-July.
Type: N.W. Himalaya, Kunawer, Thomson (K).
Distribution: N.W. Himalayas and Afghanistan.
This species was incompletely known from the type gathering only which had no basal part. It is also distinguished from Erysimum longistylum Hook. f. & Thoms., an Erysimum Himalayan species, by its many branches from the base and narrower leaves. Erysimum macrospermum Cullen & Rech. f., from Afghanistan, is conspecific with it. The two have similar leaves, flowers and seeds, but differ in fruit length only, which is not a reliable taxonomic character.
