Vern: Spighwol (Pushto); Isafghol (Punjab); Danich (Baluchi). Posterior sepals and their carina glabrous, not hirsute. Corolla lobes smaller and narrower than the type subspecies, 2-2.5 mm long.

Distribution: Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Arabia, Southern parts of Iran, Pakistan and Western India.
The juice is taken in the hot weather as a cooling drink.
