Annual, stemless, very small herb. Leaves 3-9 (-13), in rosettes, erect, narrow-linear to linear-lanceolate, usually broader above the middle, 1.5-4 (-5) cm long, 0.5-1.8 mm broad, covered densely on both sides with woolly hairs, entire, narrowed at the base, sometimes into a short petiole. Scapes 1-4, erect, shorter than or equalling the leaves, lanate. Spikes ± globose, 2-4-flowered, rarely with a single flower, 3-4.5 mm long, 3-4.2 mm broad. Bracts 1.6-2 mm long, broad-ovate, usually as long as broad or slightly broader, with a thick, greenish keel, acuminate-mucronate, dorsally and at the margins bearing long hairs. Sepals oblanceolate, 2.2-2.5 mm long, scarious at the margins, midrib strong, greenish. Corolla scarious, glabrous; corolla tube narrow, urceolate, attenuated upwards. Ovary subglobose, glabrous, 0.8 mm long, 0.6 mm broad. Seeds 2.
