Corydalis diphylla var. cyrtocentra (Prain) Jafri, stat. nov..
Corydalis cyrtocentra Prain
Differs from the type variety, diphylla, by its sessile, 2-ternate leaves with very long petiolules, flowers c. 25 mm long, with long, subcylindrical spur (not infundi¬buliform), much upcurved and overarching the lamina of its lip.
Type: Pakistan: Chitral, Younghusband (K).
Distribution: Endemic.
The sessile or subsessile leaved group with often longer petiolules needs a comparative study with the range of variations found in Corydalis diphylla. Another species of this group, Corydalis griffithii Boiss. & Huet, with smaller flowers, described from Afghanistan (Kurrum valley) may also be found in our area of Kurrum.
