Caragana brevispina var. brevispina
Erect shrub, c. 1.5-2.5 m tall, young branches pubescent. Leaf pinnately compound, rachis persistent and spinescent, c. 1.7-6.5 cm long, leaflets 8-14, 8-25 mm long, obovate, elliptic or elliptic-oblong, obtuse or retuse, mucronate, glabrous above, silky-pubescent below. Inflorescence a few flowered umbel, peduncle c. 1.2-5.0 cm long. Pedicel c. 5 mm long. Calyx c. 7-8 mm long, pubescent, teeth c. 2-5 mm long. Corolla c. 2.1-2.4 cm long. Fruit c. 3.0-5.0 cm long, pubescent.

Distribution: Kashmir; Pakistan (N.W.F. Province); India.
