Oxytropis birirensis Ali in Kew Bull. 28(2):306.fig.l.F-J. 1973.
Stem variously branched, internodes almost absent to c. 5 mm long. Leaf pinnately compound, petiole c. 1.5-3.0 cm long, rachis c. 3.5-11.2 cm long; leaflets alternate, opposite to verticillate, 9-12, c. 3-17 mm long, c. 1-3 mm broad, obovate, elliptical to linear, obtuse, acute, pubescent on both sides; stipules 4-10 mm long. Inflorescence a peduncled raceme, peduncle. 4.2-13.5 cm long. Bracts c. 2-5 mm long, pilose. Pedicel c. 1-2 mm long. Calyx c. 9-10 mm long, pubescent, teeth c. 5-6 mm long. Vexillum c. 10-11 mm long. Wing c. 9.5-11 mm long. Keel c. 8-9.5 mm long, mucro c. 1 mm long. Ovary c. 4 mm long, minutely hairy, stipe c. 1 mm long, glabrous. Fruit not seen.

Distribution: Pakistan (N.W.F. Province), endemic.
