Astragalus hoffmeisteri var. hoffmeisteri
Erect shrub, young branches minutely hairy. Stipules foliaceous, united together, c. 3-13 mm long. Leaf imparipinnately compound, rachis c. 2.7-15.0 cm long (including the petiole), minutely hairy, petiole c. 4.0-14.0 mm long. Leaflets 15-41, petiolule less than 1 mm long, lamina c. 3.5-10 mm long, c. 2.0-8 mm broad, obovate, entire, emarginate, glabrous on both sides or sometimes minutely hairy along the midrib on the abaxial side. Inflorescence a peduncled axillary raceme; peduncle c.4-12 cm long. Bracts c. 1.5-2.5 mm long, minutely pilose, pedicel c. 2.0 mm long. Calyx c. 4.0-5.0 mm long, glabrous to subglabrous, teeth unequal, upper c. 1.5 mm long, lower c. 2.0 mm long. Corolla pink-lilac. Vexillum c. 14 mm long. Wing c. 14 mm long. Keel c. 13 mm long. Fruit stipe c. 7.0-11.0 mm long; fruit c. 11-32 mm long, c. 4-8 mm broad, oblong, tapering at both ends, glabrous, 4-8-seeded.

Distribution: Kashmir; India, N. Punjab, 8000-13000 ft.
