Astragalus tephrosoides var. lacei Ali in Kew Bull. 1958:307. 1958. in Biologia 7:34.1961.
Stem erect, ribbed, black and white-hirsute. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 9-13.3 (-21.0) cm long; leaflets c. 15-27, c. 1.5-2.3 cm long, c. 8-16 mm broad, ovate, entire, obtuse to retuse, mucronate, uniformly pubescent on both sides; stipules lanceolate, not encircling the stem. Inflorescence a terminal panicle, 25 cm or more long. Bracts c. 6-10 mm long, black-hirsute. Pedicel c. 2 mm long, black and white hirsute. Calyx c. 14-18 mm long, black and white hirsute, teeth c. 7-10 mm long. Vexillum c. 13 mm long. Wing 14-15 mm long. Keel c. 12-13 mm long. Fruit sessile, c. 16-19 mm long, c. 4-6 mm broad, densely hirsute, hairs black and white, bilocular, many-seeded.
