Onobrychis tavernierifolia Stocks ex Boiss., Fl.Or. 2:545. 1872. Sirj. in Publ.Fac.Sci.Univ.Masaryk 56:18.1926.

Annual. Stem reduced to a few mm. Petiole 1-2 cm long, leaflets 3-5, 10-25 mm long, 10-23 mm broad, orbiculate to suborbiculate to obovate, obtuse to retuse, pubescent on both sides. Inflorescence a peduncled raceme. Bracts c. 3 mm long, pilose. Pedicel 5-10 mm long. Calyx 3-4.5 mm long, pubescent, teeth almost twice as long as the tube. Corolla 8-12 mm long. Vexillum white, with red veins, pubescent. Keel glabrous. Fruit c. 12 mm long, orbicular, bilocular, deeply pitted, cottony-pubescent becoming glabrescent; margin 2-3 mm broad.

Lectotype: Afghanistan, Choky, Griffith (K); syntype: Baluchistan, 1851, ,J.E. Stocks 843 (K).

Distribution: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Persia (Persian Baluchistan).
