Hedysarum cachemirianum Benth.ex Baker in Hook.f.,Fl.Brit.Ind. 2:146. 1876.
Plant 45-60 cm tall, erect. Stem grooved, glabrous. Leaf 15-30 cm long, leaflets 21-27, 1.8-3.4 cm long, linear-oblong, obtuse, glabrescent on both sides. Inflorescence a 5-8 cm long dense raceme. Bracts linear, longer than the bud. Pedicel very short. Calyx c. 10 mm long, pubescent, teeth as long as the tube. Corolla red, 1.8-2.5 cm long, wings and keel shorter than the vexillum. Fruit 1-3 jointed, each joint 1.2-2.0 cm long, membranous, both sutures winged, wing entire.
