Aechmandra conocarpa Dalz. & Gibs.
Similar to the previous species but male peduncles much shorter than the leaves (1.5-3 cm long), female flowers sessile, fascicled or subspicate and leaves (3-) 5-lobed, usually with lanceolate and acute lobes. Fruit oblong, smooth, shortly and sparsely pilose, 12-14 mm long, 5-6 mm wide, conical (not abruptly narrowed into a conspicuous beak).
Type: India, Bombay, Gujrat near Malpor and Gunded, Dalzell 39 (K).
Distribution: India and C. Africa.
A rare or undercollected species from our region. Doubtfully reported from Sind by C. Jeffrey based on Stocks collection.
