Plants smaller with smaller bulbs, linear leaves and cirrhose tips.
Holotype: Tibet, E. Gossainthan, August 1819, E. Gardner s. n. ex Wall. Catalogue 3079A (BM) Isotype (K).
Distribution: S. W. China, Myanmar, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal and India.
An ornamental plant. Dried bulbs are used in asthma, bronchitis and tuberculosis (Ambasta et al., Useful Plants of India: 228. 1986).
