Gagea staintonii Rech.f.
Plants solitary, usually uniflorous. Bulb obliquely-dro p-shaped, covered by dark grey, fiber-l ike tunics, continued in 1-3 cm long neck, without sclerified roots. Vegetative bulbil single, semi-dro p-shaped, dark grey, formed only in juvenile stages. Basal leaf single, little exceeding the inflorescence, angular in transverse section, c. 1 mm broad. Leaves on the peduncle alternate, lower shorter, at the base hardly expanded up to 1 mm, linearly-lanceolate. Inflorescence usually uniflorous, very rarely 2-3-flowered. Tepals lanceolate, with apiculate tip, 9-11 mm long, 2-2.5 mm broad, yellow inside, greenish-purple outside, inner whorl little bit shorter. Anthers yellow, oblong. Ovary oblong, sessile. Capsule shorter than the perianth, oblong. Seeds flat.
