Potentilla gelida var. turczaninowiana Th. WolfPotentilla turczaninowiana subsp. nephogena Sojak
This taxon is common near damp, stony places and streams in Pakistan and Kashmir between 3500-4700 m. Subspecies nephogena Sojak is reduced to the synonymy as the differences of glabrous and pilose petioles and leaflet margin mentioned by Sojak are not constant. Number of specimens examined by me from Pakistan and Kashmir have glabrous, glabrescent or sparsely pilose petiole and leaflets. Therefore variation is continuous. However, another subspecies kuramensis (Th. Wolf) Sojak is retained here as it seems to be distinct. It has densely sericeous petiole and leaflets surfaces. It is endemic to Kurram valley.
