Caudex short, erect, covered with overlapping leaf bases. Stipe stout, scaly, especially so at base;
scales large, reddish-brown, lanceolate, entire; c. s. of stipe with 2 linear bundles; fronds large,
monomorphic, bipinnatifid; pinnae linear, sessile, cut 1/2 way to costa; segments on either side of costa
of equal length; median pinnae 8-18 cm long, 1-2 cm wide. Sori oblong, sunken; indusia discrete,
brown, linear, opening towards costa and costules.

Distributed in Korea, Japan, China and Vietnam. Taiwan, locate at 500-1,500 m altitude
mountains, usually growing at ridge or somewhat exposed slope, sometimes at shaded places.
