Chrysanthemum arisanense Hayata
Plants with creeping rhizomes. Stems ascending, branching, densely tomentose, soon glabrate, leafy toward top. Median cauline leaves chartaceous, petiolate, broadly ovate, 3-7 cm long, base slightly cordate or truncate, base abruptly narrowed into petiole, green and minutely pilose above, grayish beneath, margins bipinnatipartite or pinnatifid, segments of 2 pairs, serrate; petioles 5-25 mm long. Heads 12 mm across, subumbellately arranged, shortly pedunculate. Involucres hemispheric, 5×8 mm, bracts 3-seriate, outer shorter, oblong, inner ovate. Ray florets: corolla yellow, 5.5-7×1.5-2 mm. Disc florets: corolla yellow, 3 mm long, 5-fid. Achenes 1.5 mm long, slightly curved. Chromosome number, 2n = 18 (Peng & Hsu, 1978).

Endemic; on mountains at 1,600 to 3,200 m, open rocky slope, roadsides, at forest margin, and in meadows.
