须弥黄堇组 xu mi huang jin zu

Herbs, perennial. Rootstock elongate, simple or often branched, crowned at apex by membranous scales and petiolar remnants, in some species becoming very robust and ropelike, composed of parallel twisted elements. Flowers yellow (mauve in Corydalis milarepa). Capsule explosively dehiscent, set on recurved pedicel.

Thirty species: W Himalayan area from Afghanistan to Bhutan, one species north to Altai; 18 species (ten endemic) in China.
