Plants, perennial. Leaves large, ternately compound; leaflets lanceolate to oval; leaf bases sheathing. Bracts and bractlets lacking. Calyx teeth obsolete. Petals white, rarely pinkish, obcordate, apex inflexed. Stylopodium conical, thick; styles slender, reflexed. Fruit ovoid-oblong, glabrous to scaly; ridges thin or not prominent; vittae obscure. Inner seed face plane.
A genus of 7 or 8 European and Asian species.
