Plant 10-30 cm high, simple or branched near the base, with appressed and spreading hairs, many glandular hairs at the base. Lower leaves petiolate, cauline leaves usually subsessile or sessile, all ± fleshy, 4-3-partite, primary segments divided into narrow lobes which usually become widened towards the apex, 2.5 (-4.5) mm wide, subglabrous to pubescent. Flowers purple or greenish-white, on leafy racemes, solitary in the leaf axils, sessile or with pedicels upto 2 mm long. Bracteoles 2.2-3 mm. Sepals 7-10 mm, spur rarely lacking, usually flexuous, ascending to erect, pubescent, 17-18 mm long. slender, lateral sepals 3.5-4 mm wide, narrowly oblong-ovate, pubescent along the middle, lower sepals 2 mm wide, linear-oblong, pubescent all over. Petal 3-lobed, c. 8 mm broad central lobe broad, ± blunt-deltoid, ± erase, lateral lobes rounded-deltoid. Filaments glabrous. Follicle 10-15 x 3 mm, erect, subcompressed, hairy, reticulate-rugose. Style 3 mm, long. Seeds angular, c. 1.6 mm long, with short, pale scales in ± irregular transverse rows.
