Plants c. 1 m tall. Lower leaves bipinnate; pinnae distant, ovate, 2.5 to 6 cm long, pinnatifid; upper leaves reduced to sheaths. Involucre of 1-4 linear bracts or lacking. Rays 12-30, 2-4 cm long. Involucel of 5-10 linear bractlets. Fruit 3-4 mm long, 1.5-2 mm broad, oblong. Furrows 2-3-vittate; commissure 4-6 vittate.
Type: India, Simla, Edgeworth 175 (K).
Distribution: Afghanistan, Himalayas in India and W. Pakistan.
This species is hard to distinguish from L. marginatum unless fruits are present.
